Question PTM MODE 3 & 4?

Modes 1, 2, and 5 seem pretty self explanatory...

Can anyone explain the two differences between PTM MODE 3 & 4?

MODE 3:[I] TC on "Sport 1", w/ESC "On" and MR set to "Sport"
MODE 4:[I] TC on "Sport 2", ESC "Off" and MR on "Sport"

Also what are distinct differences between MODE 2 & 3?
I guess if one knew the distinct difference between "Sport" and "Tour"
we might be able to figure it out.

Right well mode 3 is with the ESC on. This means you won't be able to slide to the sides as much because the computer will sense it and correct it by either applying the brakes or reducing engine power. I don't remeber which for the Camaro. The general purpose of ESC is to stop you from losing control, for instance if you mashed the throttle around the corner and started to get sideways the car would realize it and save you from spinning out.

Mode 4 is with ESC off which will allow you to slide the car around corners.

Hope that answers your question.

Edit: I'm assuimg with TC (which is traction control) "sport 2" would allow more wheel spin than "sport 1"

Generally softer suspesnion is better for daily driving. The bumps and what not in the road aren't felt as much. "Tour" sets the MR suspension to be softer.

In racing, stiffer is better. Helps the handling of the car around corners and such. That being said "sport" sets the MR suspension to be more stiff than the "tour" setting. Won't be as stiff as the "track" mode though which is in PTM mode 5.

Thanks. This is more of the answer I was seeking. The difference between sport and tour.
Thanks so much.
So would launch control be mode 5 for running such as straight line correct?

Yes, Launch Control is accessible when Mode 5 is selected.

This, from Chevy's ZL1 site:

MODE 4:

Sport; Active Handling Off.

For use by skilled drivers who are already familiar with a particular track. Dry conditions only. Requires more driver experience than Modes 2 and 3. Active handling is off and available engine power is still limited to match Mode 3.

MODE 5:

Race; Active Handling Off.

Requires more driving skill than in other modes. For use by experienced drivers who are familiar with a particular track. Dry conditions only. Active Handling is off and engine power is available for maximum cornering speed. Also for use with the ZL1 Launch Control feature on a prepared drag strip surface
