i havent had any flickering on my radio, but i did have some vertical lines in the screen. they really showed up when it was a little cooler outside. I just had the dealer replace the radio under warranty and everything is fine now.

nitro, I would suggest having your dealer take a look at this to see if they can do something about your radio flickering. Hopefully it reproduces itself while it's at the dealer and they can get this taken care of for you. Let us know how things go for you.

Now there are many things that can contribute to this problem, most of which are internal to the radio, resulting in you getting your radio replaced, but some are just simple visual checks.

Most commonly a flickering radio display is caused by a malfunction internal to the radio, most of the time the built in voltage regulators kick the bucket or stop working properly resulting in the issues you are describing. What most techs forget to to check is wiring, sometimes in tight location like the dash wires like to rub through and cause some funky issues from time to time, a simple visual of the connectors and the wiring harness will help you see if that's the problem. Another common fix that is sometimes overlooked is that GM likes to come out with new programmings for modules that we download inside your radio module or any module for that matter that fixes these types of issues.

Have your dealer look at it, I know there's an updated calibration for our radios that is out, not entirely sure when it was released, but its available. Hopefully the tech can confirm the customer concern, if not when it does bug out on you bring it in to service right away so the tech can have a look at it, or simply take a high quality video of it and show to the service adviser or the tech when you do bring the car in for service.
