After I made my changes described above my EPS has not failed ONCE. Just thought I'd update.

Hi guys, not sure if what is happening to me has anything to do with this but when I make a right tune I get a lot of feedback thru the steering wheel, its only on right turns, you can feel it and hear it, its loud enough my wife can hear it sitting in the passenger seat. It does not matter what PTM mode I am in tried them all. Has anyone experience this? Thanks Mike.

This definitely seems to be a ground issue. I had it happen and discovered the ground wire directly behind the fuse box was loose.

so was this a ground issue or what? my 2014 does this. been giving me this message for over a year but my car drives completely fine. dealer wants $300 to even look at it. plus since my car has mods they already blaming it on that. I have not touched my ground although I do clean my engine bay once every 4-6 months. could water have corrupted the ground? I also have the same message " loss communication to steering control module." car has turned traction off...whats the fix???

So I shortened the ground and moved it to the head. Also replaced the steering angle sensor. Changed out the rack and pinion, still no power steering, what else could it be???

I am still fighting this issue and it has evolved from an intermittent issue to permanent. I have replaced my battery, cleaned up my grounds, and checked voltage across EPS. I checked for codes and there are none. I spoke with the service manager at Earnhardt Chevrolet and was surprised that he had no knowledge of the issue. UGH! Such a frustrating problem to debug. Anyone that fought this issue know of anything else I can check?

On original battery stamped August 2012. Besides I have known many to replace a battery and it didnt fix this problem. The ones that do fix it have found a ground fault.
