COLD AIR INT for CA Residence

Good day ya'll

I was thinking on getting a CAI or Roto-fab cold air intake but yes its not legal in CA.

Is it a good idea if I still get one and just replaced back to stock when smog test comes?

Or if not, what are some legal, best Cold air intake for CA residence?

I have the CAI intake. It took me about an hour to swap it out with the stock parts before my smog. It only took about 15 minutes to put it back in after.

I did buy an extra PVC hose (~$12) so that I wouldn't need to redo the heat shrink.

all in all, well worth it.

I too will have the same problem as I am moving to Cali. I kept my OEM air box and will be switching it out with the CAI. As did Jimbabwe did I picked up a spare PVC hose for the same reason, but my only cost 9.00 from MaureenM@RodgersChevrolet (they are a sponsor) free shipping as well.

If you go for an inspection in CA with a CAI, will they automatically fail it? Or will the CAI not be able to pass because of the way it functions?
