I hope the new Mustang comes out smoking hot in performance and sales. That will force Chevy's hand into really stepping up the Camaro to match or beat it. I think that is the main reason we have not heard or seen anything on the 6th gen Camaro yet.

So I assume your Camaro isnt stock because a stock SS Camaro cant run with a 5.0 however I have heard a few stock SS's that have outran stock 5.0's with a EXCELLENT driver....

They had no problem selling the 2011+ model with a log axle, less horsepower than the competition, and an outdated chassis, but you don't think they know how to effectively market their fully redesigned Mustang? If they are withholding specs, there is a reason for it.

As for the performance, I specifically remember people here saying how the 5.0 didn't make enough power and the low end torque wouldn't be enough to top the Camaro SS in a straight line. Everyone said the solid axle would turn like crap and the SS would walk all over it in the corners. Look how that turned out. Don't make any conclusions until we see the real world results.
Thanks for singling me out...I'm honored. Just kidding.

But seriously, I was responding to the comment of "nothing to gain" by releasing power figures. I didn't claim the whole Ford marketing plan was a complete failure.

Ford has already said the GT is quicker than the BOSS. Well that's great. So if they can say that, why can't they also say its quicker in the 1/4 mile, or something similar? That's all I'm saying.

Please don't think that I'm drawing any conclusions. In fact I think the car will be an awesome performer. The only conclusion I've drawn, is that the looks don't excite me.

Ford isnt releasing any information because they are trying to make us Camaro owners squirm to see what the Mustang will show up with....

The Z/28 was never intended to be an every man's car. It just happened building a Trans Am car wasn't that expensive. They didn't do nearly the engineering development as the current Z/28.

I don't think it's to make Camaro owners squirm. I thinks it's to make GM squirm. Holding out as long as they can in hopes GM is far enough into the 6th gen to change much. Also they are releasing tiny bits of info spread out to keep interest and talk about the car going. Just IMO that seems the logical reason. I am getting very tired of waiting though lol.

I wasn't a fan of the car when it's was first released, but since it's release, and the slow release of info has caught and kept my interest and now I really really like the car! Thinking of picking up a Ecoboost to replace the G8 as a DD. If they had released all the info right away or within a short period of time I probably would have lost interest, instead of checking daily to see if there's any new info. I think that's what Ford was hoping would happen with most potential buyers lol

Sorry, Ford not releasing specs about the new Mustang is not a good sign.

Ford doesn't have to wait for GM to develop the 6th gen. They already know it will have the LT1 and no more than 450 HP.

Really???? Do you think it lost power and gained the rumored 300lbs?

Its a marketing ploy, nothing more. Ford know's how to play this aged old game. GM did it with the 2014 Silverado, just not to the degree of Ford.
