One of the guys at work just got an FR-S. I can see the attraction to it. I would not be comfortable in it for more than a short jaunt. He loves the car but complains that it needs more power (needs Turbo or S/C) but like the suspension. He also feels that it needs more tire and the wheels (IMHO) aren't exactly great looking.
He did comment that it was the only car he could afford (he's much younger on the job than me so he makes less $$$) that garnered attention like a Camaro or a Porsche. His words not mine. Personally I'm not a fan of imports but I can see how fun they potentially are. Just looking at the Subaru and Scion site I think the Subie looks better. With the Subie lineage it needs Turbo and AWD... just my thoughts. |

I have to admit the frs is fun to drive. They are great in turns and like said above they are fun cars. Would love to drive one of those Crawford turbo ones. Bet that car is crazy with 450HP.

The S2000 is better in every aspect. IMO this car is overrated. If they come out with a STI model with 300hp, then they are talking.

Just to see how everyone reacts..
As much of a 'lower' tier car like everyone is calling it, it was rated above both a GT500 and a ZL1 in the lightning lap that MT did last year. Curious if anyone puts much weight into that considering it was slower in every way. And if they don't put weight into it, do they put weight into magazines picking the ZL1 over the GT500 even though it was slower in most of the comparisons. *Yes, I'm well aware that's a loaded question lol*

Your poking the beast here...lol I think bumping the power/tq to 350 and all the supporting mods (suspension, brakes, tranny etc) would make one hell of an impressive "lower" tier car. 450 seems to push this car beyond the limits of a DD or track car. Yes, I am one of those who believe that there is more to a car than just a fast 1/4 mile. |

riding A Pocket Bike Is Fun, But If You Actually Want Performance Than YouNeed A Bigger Sport Bike. I Don't Believe It Should've Ranked Higher Than Both Those Cars...They Are Not Even Close In Performance. At Least The Zl1 Is Close To The Cobra.

The Frs is around 2700lbs. That is what makes it feel quicker than it is. They are fun in there own way. However, weak exhaust note, 151lbs of torque, etc. The experience is so different it is tough to compare them.

IIRC, someone has already successfully put an LS motor into one of these and it only added like 60lbs or something like that. Now that would be omazing.

I'd like the chance to drive one, preferably the BRZ, I don't care for the overall appearance of the FRS.
