Removal of complete Convertible top assembly????

Has any one removed their complete top assembly?????

Trying to replace the 5th bow and this is on a 2012 so it is different than a 2011.

Right now I can see 2 bolts near the front of the top looking straight down and one coming in from the interior side panel.
Ant the rods that push the top up have to be disconnected.

On the rear of the top I see 2 brackets each with 2 nuts but they look like they are for the water bag.

So if anyone else has done this please add any details you can think of of any other nuts/bolts that have to be removed.

Thanks for the reply.

The first post is missing the photo's due to Photo Bucket wanting money.........
I did Email him to see if he had the photo's but I never got a reply.

It is also for a 2011 and my 2012 seems to be a little different.
The piece over the rear window seems to be much different and is held in by 4 Torx bolts which have Blue Locktite on them.
I did get the 4 Torx on one side and still could not remove the part to fold the portion of the top back.

The second post kind of just shows the whole top out of the car with little or no information on how to remove it.
But it does have photos.

GM has a training video PIC5449 but you have to have all the sign in information, but it seems you have to be at a GM Dealership to log on.
I will be getting the part that could be printed tomorrow.

The new 5th bow is on the FedEx truck to be delivered, so I will see if that helps figure out information.

Did this ever get completed?

Pics?

Hints?

Does anybody know if this part is the correct bracket instead of ordering the entire 5th bow?

https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...r-bow-22936377

Is the 22905117 the 'upgrade? Who's got the part number for the right side?

Thanks,

-KP

The post below has the part numbers
https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=497555

That is the part number for the bow, it's the full assembly with both end brackets attached.

The directions in the posts are almost complete for the removal of the top, you just need to remove the RT rear quarter seat trim and the rear seat assembly so you can access the rear defroster wires. Mark all the brackets in their current location before removing. The top, water management bag, and all brackets come off as unit. You'll need a good Rivet gun to replace the rivets on the cables if you replace the pivot brackets also.

This link takes you to the chilton repair manual. There is some info in there about fixes. Maybe something that might help.
