Cam swap 2 question..

1. Pros and cons vs taking the front off and leaving motor in or removing the motor from top?

2. If I did remove motor from the top is there way to keep the freon vs discharging the system I was thinking you could just unbolt the ac compressor but, then I'm sure there are hard lines that probably get in the way.

Please tell me you're going to create a "how-to" tutorial? I think we've talked about this before. I just ordered the Helms manual but I've got similar questions. It's hard to find quality DIY material on these LT4's. I support my local shops but I just want some wrench time, too.

on a 5th gen you can swing the condensor up and out of the way...likely the sixth gen is the same...no need to discharge the system.

I will as always I found a good vette lt1 article on the engine procedures. I have a lift a more than adequate hoist and I removed the motor on my 96 z28 20 years ago. Just want to know which way is easier/better to swap the cam.
