First time to drag race, any tips?

Hey guys, I will be taking my 2LT (auto) to the dragstrip this Friday and it will be the first time I've ever gone drag racing. Are there any tips or anything I should know going in?

Make sure you watch the staging lights. Nothing more embarassing than staging with your back wheels. Ask me, I know.

I just did my first ever runs at Atco raceway a couple weeks ago. It was a rental so not much pressure and plenty of people to help.

A bit nervous the first run but after that it was just plain fun.

I had a little trouble getting a good launch, I left the T/C on but still got some wheel spin because I think my 19" all season tires aren't the best for this. I also loaded up my auto tranny to about 1500 rpm and now believe starting at idle is the better way to go.

Well I did four runs the first three 14.9x and the last one 14.86. Kind of disappointed, thought I could get better times. I don't know..maybe it's because it was my first time and I had a half tank of gas. The guy that went right before my first run was in a bmw and ran it off the end of the track into the gravel, it was his first time, I don't know how he did it.. guess he thought he was still racing lol Reguardless I still had a blast, got to see some sick cars and a 5th Gen Camaro that runs 10.xx. I'm sure yall have seen it on youtube, its gray with black rally stripes.
