I just ordered this GM Hurst shifter from BeckyD.

Love the factory Hurst. Mine's a daily driver, so I like the short throw without the hassle, noise and and problems with the aftermarket Hurst (do a search). Plus, that damn baseball shift knob really has grown on me Don't get me wrong, love the aftermarket Hurst on my '68 ragtop Camaro...

Also, I'm making an assumption you're financing the car. $380 over 60 months at 3-4% interest is squat! Get it.

I like the factory Hurst. It feels just right for my driving. The car I test drove before ordering had the stock shifter and it felt like rowing a boat to me. The aftermarket shifters I've driven (not in a 5th Gen) have felt like they took significantly more effort than stock. The factory Hurst feels like it splits the middle perfectly. If you intend to race, aftermarket is the way to go, plus you have several options on brand. I recommend finding one to test drive with and without the factory Hurst and then decide if it's worth the extra cost. Perhaps someone near you with an aftermarket might let you row through the gears (not necessarily driving) to get a feel for it as well... This is all a matter of opinion and feel for the driver. Who knows?? You may not like the feel of either over stock...

The flattened sides of the factory Hurst make the knob 'comfortable' - I don't like the ball type knobs. The linkage on the factory knob worked great on a road course.
