Track times/0-60 times w/ V6?

Just curious what kind 1/4 mile times and or 0-60 times some of you guys have been getting out of the V6 Camaro and with what mods added? Just wondering because while I think the 14:1 compression ratio will hold the V6 down performance wise, but I think the 300hp + some bolt-on's and stuff. I'm kind of curious as to what the V6 may be capable of. I'm not looking for V6 vs. V8 or anything like that I just want to see some real track numbers for the V6 or modded V6's.

With the V6? Fastest I could find is 14.3 and that was member scrming. I mean
there is little to no one going down the track in the V6 and no one with a stick doing it. At least not on this forum.

Wow... A V6? What was the DA? I'm running 14.3 with the DA in 1400 to 1600 range IIRC... Ran 14.3 again today... haven't calc. the DA yet... Need to buy a weather station!

Scrming,
Did do you still have the V2 exhaust on the car? If so, it looks like the performance is not markedly different between the more aggressive system and the more subdued version?

I'm actually putting together every thing from today together to update the 2.0 thread...

But yes, there appears to be no difference between 1.0 and 2.0 when it comes to performance...

Thanks for the reply's so far guys! I've just been very curious about the 1/4 mile times bc my Firebird while being lighter & being a V8 is good for low 13's w/ 300hp. It just makes me wonder what 300hp V6 may be capable of with some bolt on performance mods as it's the most potent & technologically advanced V6 GM has produced.

I believe the car's torque management system is holding my car back a bit... During a shift the timing goes from mid-20s to -8 degrees... I'm pulling a 2.0 60' and trapping at 97 MPH yet my ETs are 14.3 to 14.5... With that 60' time and trap speed I should be closer to the 13s...

Also remember.. while the V6 is rated at 304HP, the torque is only rated at like 273 ft/lbs... and my 2LT RS tipped the scales at 3840 WITHOUT the driver...

Not trying to sound mean or nasty about it but, why would you even care? It says in your signature you have a SS on order.

Sounds like just plain curiosity... I think some of it may be all the talk about the 300HP has a lot of people curious on how that translates to 1/4 mile times...

I'm curious bc with 300hp stock and 14.2 stock times I wonder what possibly some bolt ons could do to improve those times and possibly get into the 13's and low 5's 0-60. Someone on here once said that a Camaro is a Camaro whether it's got a V6 or a V8. We all already know that the V8 is limitless with performance and while the V6 may not be I still think the V6 probably has the capability to put down some decent numbers. I'm just one that likes to learn as much as I can about both the V8's & V6 of the 5th gen Camaro.

That's pretty much what I figured you were after!

I would say simple bolt-ons aren't show huge gains... a few HP here and there... BBK teased at a BIG GAIN with long tubes... but that also meant going to aftermarket high-flow cats... which is not an option for everyone...

I think we'll see some benefit when a tuner comes out for the LLT... I think reducing the effects of the torque management system will help quite a bit..

Right now my best times with an axle back and separate IAT sensor is 14.32. Looking at the DA and if I correct to sea level it put it at 14.03... Since the track elevation is 895 feet here, it's going to take some really good weather for me to get a 14.0... LOL!

I will add headers over the winter... tune hopefully before spring... so I'm hoping for 13's when the tracks open!

Although the track here is open to November 30th... so BBK if you want to send me some prototype Long Tubes to try out at the track, let me know! LOL!
