As promised, I did 4 runs last nite to baseline the car and try to evaluate the accuracy of the "Dynolicious" IPhone app and the Kat Matrix Dyno.

Here is the first run receipt with the dynolicious app saved run. As you can see, the app lagged behind the actual times up to the end of the 1/4 mile where it was real close on ET but way off in MPH. The Kat Matrix registered a run of 14.46@98.20 MPH

The second run came after a 1 hour cool down. The ET on the app was off by a bit but the MPH was closer. I re-calibrated the phone just before this run so that may contribute to a closer reading. I didn't get a good run on the Kat and the backlite on the unit quite working as well.

The third run, I did just for fun against a 2003 Supra TC. It was a mid 13 second car but the kid couldn't drive so I lined up on him in the staging lanes. I think he thought mine was a V8 cause he really hit the burnout before the run! I cut a great light on him and didn't see him for the first 330'... when I looked in the mirror, I saw the cloud of smoke! He torched it! Here's the run slip...

BTW... notice that this was a "hot lap" with very little cool down. Lends some credence to John's heat soak solution! I also did a manual shift on this run so, some of the diff will be my shifting....

The last run I did the following video. I was paired up with a 2002 or 3 Mustang with a turbo. Now this guy would go into the burnout and floor first gear till it was bouncing off the limiter! I'd seen him do mid 12s before so I figured he'd get me. I did get him out of the hole and it took till nearly 1/2 track for him to catch me! In the video, you can hear his turbo hiss at each shift....

Here's the times....

And, here's the video...

I'll try to get some better info on the Kat hopefully tomorrow nite. We had a cool front blow through today so the air will be much better!

The track rental (Atco) that I was hooked up with today was called off due to rain. It's been rescheduled for 12/4. Hoping for good weather then.

With any luck, I'll have the JBA headers installed.

Thanks Matt TuneTime for setting up the rental.

Bummer... But, yeah, been seeing the east coast has been getting dumped on...

We are having unseasonably warm weather here! 60 degrees today! Crazy!

Make sure you post up some times. I'd be nice to see what the headers can add.

I just want to get to about 13.9 /14.1 and 100 thru the 1/4... I'd be happy with that...

09 Citric Nationals practice

I went out to Palm Beach Int Raceway today to take advantage of some rare "good air"! DA this morning was like -350 but the track wasn't prepped and wouldn't hold even my V6 HP. They also had issues with the timing gear so, by the time I got to run again, the DA was up to 276. This run was with TC:

Going back tonite to try one more trick to get in the 13s.

Well, even if I go out in the first round (Sportsman), I got a nice souvenir of the event.

PS since typing is not my strong point. Please read title as "Citrus Nationals".... opps!

I'm getting my best times by leaving at idle and flashing the converter, with TC on...

Same here..

I could only manage to back up my earlier time tonite with a 14.217@97.37 even though the DA was under -450! Long waits in line with IAT heat soak seemed to be the culprit. I have a trick to pass out now that I've tried it with some success... like .14 sec! I'll write more tomorrow...

Still a nice time! Your trap speed was up a bit... Man, best DA i've been able to run in is about 1600!

Looking forward to hearing more about your trick!

Congrats again on the 14.18!

Could this trick involve using some combination of the tap shift, sport mode or "D".

Curious about hearing of your trick.
