I was searching and found this thread for engine lights and K&N CAI's. I have a V6 2011 2lt and paid a shop to install mine just to be safe. My engine light has been on, but then goes off, and then returns. I have the black tube K&N due to living in AZ and the heat.

Checked all the connections and tightened them up. Still the engine light. Appears all connections are solid. I don't really trust the shop guys skills now and was wondering if anyone here lives in the phoenix area and can recommend a shop where they know what they are doing? Or any simple checks that I might do. Thanks,

I have the same problem with my KN. I have gotten the code cleared twice from the dealer. Most recent this
Morning on the way home I got it over a buck ten and still no light. I'm hoping for the best but idk. My RPM is kind of weird at times and it also has a delay wen I step on the gas but not always? I was reading up on KN intakes on different models and same problem. Some say that the oil from the filter gets on the MAF sensor and needs to be cleaned? Would that solve my problem?

Your warranty stays intact due to the The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a federal law, NOT because you bought a CAI kit.. : This law applies to ALL intakes, not just the CAI brand!

But what if your new intake kit fails and actually DOES damage your motor? Then what? Will CAI stand behind their product and pay to have your car fixed? I found nothing on their website talking about their warranty.
Actually we do have a system for the V6 and have been selling V6 systems in Silver and in Black for quite some time now, and they are usually in stock as well.

Our warranty is clearly written on our FAQ page of the website:

I knew I missed something, LOL. Well the warranty link may be good info for some people still! I can't believe how old this thread is.

Me too! I have already attempted to contact K&N, but they are conveniently not open on the weekend. If anybody has further insight, please help us out. I'm disappointed, because this is not the quality that I would expect from K&N.

Yep....happening to me also. Had the code cleared and CEL went off. I'm guessing it will come back on though. Going to try and clean the MAF sensor. Probably won't work. I'm pretty pessimistic about the whole thing considering this problem has been going on since at the latest May of last year. K&N still hasn't figured it out, from what I've seen so far.
