I think it's suspension, the ability to put the power down with minimal wheels spin.

Not sure if it's a teck/track package but one member did post a dmv registration paper and it had his GT350'S gross weight . It only weighed 35,XXX lbs if I can recall.

That's a heavy car..

On a serious note, the car doesn't weigh 3,5xx pounds..

Unless you're tracking the car almost every single weekend the break upgrade is not worth the money.

That's what I thought too until I saw the picture of the dmv papers lol

I thought the GT350 is at least 38,XXX LBS.

Just did a quick search.. average weight is 37,XXX + lbs

And with magazine Racing, don't think it will beat a SS on the 1/4.

Nice car tho regardless lol

The 35xx lbs that have been seen are shipping weights. These are based off lightest car in the model segment and bare bones. Nobody drives a shipping weight car. The curb weights on Fords website is what you need to go off from as that is how they are driven.

Bingo. The only Mustang that clocks in near 3500 lbs is the 2.3 turbo. GT350 is 3700 easy. Probably more honestly.

42 for a fully loaded 2SS sounds like a great price , I'm not quite sure how to haggle 7k off a car not sure what angle to take

I am going to track the car I am completely interested in the 1le based on looks and performance its my top contender , the only thing with the 2ss is I absolute love that LEATHER

as far as SS vs GT350, I have to say I think the SS is easier to drive better early torque

The only way you are going to get that kind of reduction is likely to find a car sitting on the lot for the past 6 months. There are definitely some out there. The other way would be to combine supplier, with several rebates and a private offer. You might get close to that but not many rebates out there right now, but that will change by fall as they try to clear out remaining '16s.

I'd say wait and get a 1LE if tracking is really your thing. You will get recaros and likely still $10k under a base '17 GT350. You can also always get a 1SS and get the seats covered in nice leather and save a bunch of cash too. You definitely have options if leather is the only thing you wanted a 2SS for.

DMV doesn't equal the weight of the actual model.

Yeah and that's the shipping weight that I was seeing not the curb weight.

Watch a few videos of the SS on the tracks and even on the forums, not one issue of overheating that I read about.

3 radiators is def. a plus!!

I love the exclusivity of the GT350.. but I would chose an SS or a 1LE over it. That's just me, my opinion.. The midrange torque of the SS is incredible.

Plus, I like the design of the SS better! Only thing the Stang has over the Camaro is a slightly better visibility. Coming from a family of Fords and owning a GT and an Ecoboost Mustang.. The SS just impresses, over exceeded my expectations.

I don't see many 6th Gen on the streets but when I do, DAMN the road presence! Especially the how the daytime running lights.. makes the car looks menacing!

OP, I wish you could have test drove one and provided some feedback compared to an SS! I never drove a GT350 but I'm guessing the mid-range grunt is not a present compared to an SS. SS is lighter and has a bit more torque as well..

But the 8200 rpm should sound menacing!

I somehow found a really nice salesman they had a black with white stripe GT-350 off lot outside and he let me get in it and rev it a bit. I have to say it is menacing very polished outside and inside. That is the closest I've been to it. I do think there is a higher paranoia factor with the shelby parking it etc draws even more attention. the whole top end at 8500 RPM makes it hard to drive not on the track like other posters have said above.

getting the shelby for close to MSRP requires traveling , here in LA CA they wanted 20K over MSRP!!! I do some found for the 57K price but its hard to find
