Probably now quite but it depends on the insurance company and any structural damage below the skin. They can replace the whole side skin. That's what they did to my car and it came out great. The rear suspension looks a good bit messed up but most likely all bolt on parts.

I seem to recall cars on here "totaled" with less damage than this. I've also seen cars with more damage than this get fixed by the insurance company. There's no telling how much damage is underneath.
I hope it all works out for you in the end. Just remember, it is a car and it can be replaced.

I'd say you're close, but probably ok. It really will come down to if there is some additional hidden damage not apparent - I think a few more grand in unseen damage could drag this into a total. Let us know how you make out.

Based on visible damage, no; but as other's have stated comes down to the 'hidden' damage (suspension, under carriage, structural damage), as well as the insurance company.

As most have commented, it is what is 'under' all that body damage that is concerning.
As we have seen here lately, you can be greatly surprised as to what will be totalled and what will not. The damage underneath all that body work is what is going to greatly increase the repair totals. BTW, good luck man. I have no envy of anyone that has to go through something like this, no matter the fault.

The cost of fixing ( includes parts, labor and paperwork hours ) vs just cutting you a check . It's a 7 year old car too.

If you don't mind explaining what happened, with details on point of impact, speed, were the brakes engaged, etc. It'd help some people understand the extent of damage to the car. For all we know, you could have crashed through a farmers market and just made a bunch cosmetic damages.

Yeah, it's likely to be totaled out..the airbags deployed. That's often the make or break point with insurance companies.

It all comes down to cost of repairs vs value. Your state laws and your insurance companies guidelines will dictate the threshold. For instance, your insurance company's threshold may be 70% of value. Ask your adjuster how they determine the value. Start shopping for one just like yours in your area and those prices will be the actual value. The whole point of insurance is to "make you whole" i.e. get you back to where you were before the accident minus any applicable deductible. Unibody cars have muddied the water on frame/structural damage. If you say "it's not totalled. The frames not bent.", You are stupid. It's all about money.

That's a great question to ask some guy at a body shop or an insurance adjuster

Quarter panel, Bumper cover, Wheel replace & Paint, and side airbags, probably 5K to 6K in damages, not even including what was done to axle and filler line. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

$8000 or so, have them cut you a check while the car is still worth something, a salvaged 7 year old car is not worth keeping even if the mileage is low, it's still 7 years old. Sorry that had to happen

I think you may be pretty low there. I was thinking you might be nearly $5k before the labor - air-bags and OE wheels aren't cheap. Pending on what the rear suspension and cradle look like this could run into a 5 figure repair pretty easily.
