Agreed.....
But 500 peak HP ain't worth a crap if you lose all you power under the curve. Some people get too wrap up in dick-wagging contests and wanna say they have 500HP.....by how often are you driving at the RPM to see that HP? Even at the track, how often and for how long will you see those RPMs??? Jus' sayin'.... KW

Going to give gpi a call for sure. For the time being I’d like to try to keep my 3400 converter due to not wanting to pull the converter and all that good stuff again for the time being. So So im going to see what he thinks. But looking at the ss3 for sure.

I am running the VVT3 with a 2800 stall. I admit the stall is a bit low but it launches without spinning my 315's and the just barley spins a bit when the cam come in in first and breaks them loose a bit on the 1-2 shift. I also live at 5000'. Get the cam from GPI and try it. If you choose to stall higher you can do it later. I know my yank is nice and tight and drives almost stock. It does push a bit at idle but I do not mind.

I’d keep VVT and go TSP VVT 3.2 cam with AFM / DoD delete kit.
I run it with TFS GenX 255 heads and from a dig it is strong. Mods in sig. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

500 is not hard to achieve when you do all the efficiency tricks. EWP, Crank scraper, Good ATI pulley, mid runner fast, ram air etc

Then the question becomes; 'How much gear and stall are you willing and able to live with?'
I mean, you can install a donkey-dick cam with 5.xx gears and a 5000 stall TC. But.....really? What a shitty ride that'd be for a street/strip car. KW

With a cam that makes 500 peak hp, you don't need 5.xx gears (especially with the ratios in the 6l80e) and a 5000 stall converter. That would be a poorly put together combination, which is exactly the point I was trying to make. A cam that makes 500 peak with the correct converter and gears will be faster than a car that makes less power and also has the correct converter and gears.
