Concerned about buying with an aftermarket radio already installed

Looking at this 2012 that has an aftermarket radio already installed. My concerns are not knowing the quality of the install and losing any functionality that the factory radio would have provided.

Any thoughts on what I should be looking for and/or questions I should ask the dealer? Also, anybody have any idea what model this is and the quality of the unit? Looks to be a Pioneer,

at least it plays cd's but not a big fan. I believe on the stereo case/encloser there is another made that is closer to original for heater and ac controls.

How is everything else on the car? How is the price, color, ect if everything else is good don't let the stereo be the reason to stop you.

You will probably lose some vehicle settings/personalization.

Look on page 6.

scoche and metra make the aftermarket radio dash kits. thats a metra. if installed correctly you dont loose any functions. go look in the audio/video section of the forum and ask the question there. you will get answers from people that have actually had one.

if your buying from a dealership, tell them you want a stock radio in there an then you'll buy. if private party, ask if they have the original.

Buy a Certified Pre-Owned Camaro. When you buy "used", it's already enough of a risk putting one's money on the line.

I CRINGE every time I read a thread where someone states they modded something and can't get a part back on, it won't fit properly or it makes a noise. Who knows what may be faulty with any "used" car and just waiting to go bad.

CPO is guaranteed accident-free and un-modified. 1 year bumper to bumper, 2 year warranty w. 4 oil changes and tire rotations. Your money and peace-of-mind will go a lot further.

Actually that looks like a pretty nice radio. Test drive the car and test the radio before you completely dismiss it. You may actually like the 'aftermarket' gizmo.
