Very debateable. All I can say is "you can never change you oil too often"!

My dealer told me it was too early too. Sorry! Change it anyway. I wanted to be sure all the metal shavings were out like everyone else.

Cheap insurance & piece of mind! I'm VERY glad I did it around 1200 miles and took out the first batch of metal shavings...

I dont care what the dealer says. Anytime ive dynoed our race engines for years we do three oil changes on the dyno and get shavings out. So i will change with regular oil at 500, 1000, 1500. Then every 3000 with synthetic Royal Purple from now on. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Oil is a small price to pay for your engine.

I changed mine after 30 miles of hard accelerations.
I will change it again after 500 miles (today likely).
Oil changes are cheap.
