Thank you JGALEWSK, for the great info and putting it in a context I could understand. I will definitely look into that size combo. I am so excite because she just came in this morning!!!!!

Everytime I see this car in AGM I am like a kid waiting for Christmas. I think that is the best color, hands down!

It's a Dingledarm. It's there to dampen side fumbling. If your marzelvanes fumble too much they can cause total protonic reversal. It gets ugly from there. This is really the biggest problem with the new Camaro. That and the tri-pronged blivot.

Good choice man, you will love this car. Go check So Cal's thread, he pulled that hood wrap on his AGM and it is growing on me badly. I like the "no glare" on my black one when I drive though and had problems with glare on tracks with my older shinny black car but that is an easy fix since my helmet cover is tinted and in summer I wear sun shades driving around.

Sounds like he wants a nice daily driven tire that will last a long time (36,000 miles). Those F1's are not gonna do that I think no matter what type of driving.

I have another question about his tire choice but don't want to hate, his car, I am sure he has reasons, so a decent all season tire would do good.

thanks for that. and initially wanted a tire that was going to last me longer then the stock ones. its pretty much just a weekend car and since i got it i put 250 miles already. Funny, my gf and i were driving back from shopping and she said, you may want to get a radar detector. i was like.. wow.. thats what i was just thinking.

as to the tires choice, no problem. ask away. so far good sound advice. i am old enought to know better, but old enough to listen to reason. lol..

note: decided to keep the stock ones. i should get a couple of years out of them. (if i can stop driving all over the place.. do we need milk? i'll got get some. ) lol..

thanks for all the input and i dont feel any hate from you guys. i'd rather hear the question, i could be wrong! thx!

At 220 treadwear, anywhere from 20k to 30k is a reasonable expectation. That's street driving up to some pretty enthusiastic driving as long as you don't spin or slide the tires very often. Obviously it'll be less if you do much autocross, HPDE, or dragstrip activity.

You can maximize your tires' tread life by matching inflation pressures and alignment specs to your own individual driving. What you end up with may not be as per "stock" specs or factory recommendation (mine rarely do, regardless of which car).


Good luck with your new car. Once you get used to it, you'll have a better idea what you want out of your tires (and other things). You're probably better off trying to keep the things you like and change things that you know you don't like once you know what they are, than it would be trying to guess ahead of time what they might even be.

Comparing UTQG rating between Manufacturers of tires is worthless,
a 220 rating on a goodyear is based on their test tire rated at 100.
e.g. a gy tire with a 65k treadwear warranty, is rated at 740 utqg,
so under optimal conditions every 100 pts, if they warranteed performance tires, would put the f1 gen2 at abt 20,000miles, in a perfect world. Probably not attainable.
btw.
took delivery of my 1le agm, 2 days ago,and ordered 275/40rf19, All seasons and rims for the cold times of the year!

All I can say is that I've managed to get 10,000 to about 12,500 miles per 100 treadwear over a variety of tire makes and 220-TW models. That's consistently been my experience over a period that covers the entire length of time that the NHTSA ratings have been around.

Other than not launching hard, my driving is pretty darn enthusiastic, so it's hard for me to understand people not getting at least close to 10,000 miles/100TW unless they're doing something wrong or don't have the car set up for the way that they're trying to drive.
