Yes I was averaging 14l/100 km 16.8 mpg. it only used 3/4 of a tank for a total drive time of three and half hours.

We need a road in America with no-speed limit!

I'd pay a $50 toll to use it!

The portion of A31 I used to drive is a decent ride. Usually pretty clear at the right time. I think A45 is the one thru Leverkusen. That thing seems endless. Used to cruise from Nuremberg to Muenster avoiding A3 as much as possible.

I lived in Holland for over 4 years, and my wife and I often took driving trips through Germany. Driving on the autobahn was a great experience, but I never did it in anything that would come close to my ZL1!

You learn to pay attention over there and the reward is you can go as fast as you want...or rather as fast as the car can go. Their laws breed courtesy, our laws breed road rage. People think the law says you should only go so fast so if I go that speed and you want to pass me you are a law breaker, some how people think they should restrict "law breakers" on public roads. Anyway... it is easy for me to rant about this because their system works....very well... and everyone over here in general is too dumb to realize it.

The roads are great but law enforcement mindset in that states is terrible. I was charged with criminal speed and had to talk to the judge for passing someone on the right at 12 mph over the limit. He was parked in the left lane with the cruise set at 2 mph under the limit and when I went to pass he sped up. Cost me about $550 because the judge was more understanding than the cop and gave me the minimum fine for the offense. I barely avoided getting my car impounded and going to jail... the cop acted like I was a serial killer or something for passing on the right at 92 mph. Seligman Arizona.... I'll stick with Oklahoma roads and police thank you.
