Drove a 2013 SS, felt different than my 2010

A 2013 SS showed up at the shop the other day and it was a 6 speed just like mine, but for some reason the shifting in that car felt way better than mine. Its almost like im having to shift through lard compared to butter. It felt notchy and it was stock from what I was able to tell.

What can I do to improve the way mine feels without spending loads of money?

I have also noticed that the 2013's have a way lighter clutch pedal and way smoother transmission then all of the 2010 and 2011's I have been in. I am not sure what changed though.

Thats what I want to know. I also noticed the lighter clutch as well. Overall, it felt as if I didnt have to fight with the car as much as mine.

I get what you're saying. There could very well be a new clutch and shifter, but the transmission is the same right? I'd be pretty jealous if the new ones had a better transmission too! But yeah it definitely takes some skill and practice to be good with the clutch. Everyone who's driven my car has told me it's the most difficult clutch they've ever used.

Was it a short shifter maybe? Probably an obvious thing you would have noticed but my shifter is smooth as hell and it's the first short one I've had.

It was stock, and you have a 2013 so its very smooth. Try finding a 2010 and feel the difference in the shifter.

It might have a different clutch in it. I changed to a ZR1 clutch during my build and it feels HELLA better than the stock clutch!
