Tint cost
I've priced a few local places selling 3m color stable, llumar ctx, and American film. I've been quoted anywhere from $450 to $560 for removal of current tint (bubbling bad), all side windows at 15-20%, rear 5%, and clear tint on windshield. Does this sound high or normal?
Llumar ctx all windows- $475 3M sides rear and madico windshield - $560 American standard i think $350 with no windshield |

$300-$400 is normal for a quality ceramic film (not including windshield). They shouldn't charge much (if anything) for removal of the old film.

$200 for 3m color stable all around.
$70 for front windshield. $40 for old tint removal. These were the prices at the tint shop I worked at. We were the largest distributor of 3m on the east cost though so that helped keep costs down.

Why clear tint on the windshield? (I know it's illegal here to tint the front in NY) but why clear?

Well I know crystalline 70% tint is clear and it blocks 70% IR rays, 40% UV and helps keep the car much cooler.

I'll be going back to see what the best price they can do is since it seems I've been quoted pretty high
Yea it helps down here when my car sits in sun all day while I'm at work. It's clear to be legal but keeps the heat out |
