We've discussed the possibility of the LS7 previously. While it is a great idea, that motor is on its way out.

once again....
THE Z28 IS NOT DEAD. IT WILL BE BACK. tho a ZL1 would be great, GM has stated the LS7 is dead to them. so to speak.

If we don't try to stay on track, this thread may get merged into the other Z28 thread. I'm not threatening, just making sure that it doesn't go paralell (as much as I LOVE talking about Z28 )

He's not talking about the Z28. He's talking about the ZL1. That is the traditional super Camaro. The Z28 is traditionally a stripper, low-displacement Z28 with track-tuned parts. The ZL1 is traditionally a ridiculous powerhouse out of the factory with limited production.

SS is a form of Super Camaro. SS is Super Sport right? Stock SS would hold it's own against both of the above 427's.

yea but the idea was for a 427 ls7 which produces more power then both of those.
and some could argue that SS isn't anything that special anymore. if ever. but it's just an opinion. |

I doubt a ZL1 is in the cards, but i would love if it does come out...seeing how great the '69 ZL1. You know there was also 2 '69 Corvette ZL1's to go along with the 63 (somewhere around that number) Camaro ZL1's? How would u like to get ahold of 1 of those Vettes?...gotta b worth a few million. Anywho this also makes a link for a Camaro ZR1.
I really dont see GM releasing a ZR1 Camaro, but im sure a few people will be dropping an LS9 into their Camaro and create their own Camaro ZR1. However i dont think they should slap on ZR1 badges unless they also plan on doing a bit of grading close to the extent of the upgrade from Z06 to ZR1, such as bodywork, brakes, carbon fiber similar to the Vette ZR1. And im sure some people will create New ZL1 Camaros by dropping in LS7 (as you said, shares its displacement with former ZL1's) and adding similar graphics from the 2002 ZL1. So it is possible to have a Super Camaro, it just may not be a factory car

More HP does not mean better. Maybe on a straight line but not on a twisted track.
