TSP vs BTR blower cams
Anyone running either the TSP Stage 3 PD cam or the BTR Stage 3 PDS torque cam? I spun a main yesterday at 176k miles. Was running the BTR Stage 3 PD cam in my old setup. Picked up a new LS3 this morning from a local dealer and now I'm looking at cam options.

The TSP cams have been making solid power for years on both PD and Regular blower cars Plus they are cut on a In house Callies Core which is much better =)

Hey man, keep me in the loop!! You know I have the BTR stg 3 right now myself. I have been debating a custom spec or a TSP...... interested to see where this goes!
Just curious, why not the PD blower stage 3 from TSP? http://www.texas-speed.com/p-5062-te...-camshaft.aspx

That's one of the ones I'm looking at getting. Either that or the BTR torque cam.

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-2975-te...-camshaft.aspx But the TSP still uses what appear to be more aggressive lobes, which will be harder on pushrods, valvesprings, and valvestems in general. BTR stage 3: 223/246 .610"/.600" 117+6 TSP stage 3: 231/246 .640"/615" 111 LSA, 109 ICL TSP stage 2: 227/235, .641"/.649", 114 LSA I would expect the TSP stage 3 to make a little more low end, and the BTR to carry a little better up top, the BTr will idle better and buck less. Not sure the power really matters on a pullied down blower car. |

I just put in the BTR PDS stage 3 torque cam on my 2010 SS 6M with the intent of putting in a PD Supercharger in the future. My tuner was surprised with the amount of RWHP it made. I’m basically all stock except with 1-7/8 Kooks LT headers and hi flow cats. It made 482rwhp and 434rwt on the dyno. It has a great lope on it but not excessive and the power was steady throughout. Did the trunnion upgrade as well. I’m so happy went with this cam and looking forward to the Supercharger install.

So I ordered the tsp cam and my tuner finally got back to me and told me to go with the BTR lol. So I ordered the BTR yesterday. I have a 85 IROC that's getting my old LS3 as long as the block isn't trash so it will probably get the tsp cam.

I wouldn't call the TX Speed cam you have referenced in your first post a blower cam. TX Speed wouldn't call it that either. That's a fairly aggressive N/A cam. Here's their stage 3 PD blower cam....
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-5062-te...-camshaft.aspx Glad your tuner caught that. At 16.5* of overlap, that thing would have been a mess to tune and probably a bigger mess to live with. |

My car has the TSP stage 1 PD blower cam.
Made 650 rwhp and ran 10.7@127 with a Maggie 2300 Now this same cam in my Huron TT setup just made 752/740...

I am running the older BTR Stage 3, 2800 stall, it has responded well to continued tuning and more boost, but I have always wondered about more lift or newer cams.... alot of work to switch without a promise of significant increase. OP let us know how it does!
