Here's a couple pics of the hurricane bolts.

So it was well worth it to us to build new.
Good luck... We are kinda in the same boat. Not sure what we are going to do, but we've pretty much outgrown our current house.

Thanks! Its how I thought it would be, just wasn't completely sure. I wish our code would have required that when I built, I think it does now.

Chris,

Since your going to be getting a lift, you might want to make a home made dyno machine like the below

WOW I did not think they still build wood frame homes in Florida after hurricane andrew I though all homes were built with block (except for 2nd floors). looking good once they stucco the outside and mud the interior walls thing will slow down quickly.

Looking good

Looking GREAT! I can see the Camaro 5 Lounge area is shaping up nicely.

What's the green paint for?

Flood protection. should we ever have a flood that coating keeps the wood from rotting. So all we'd have to replace would be the dry wall. but the house would still be sound. Unless of course it gets washed away..

Psh....... whatever.

No it ain't.

It's so Chris could fullfill his obligation to the Green Society Club he's a member of. His car gave him negative points so he has to compensate.

Lowes sells something similar called BluWood. But the best part of that and why it's at the bottom of your walls is the termite control it offers as well.

Both. It's treated lumber which is the mold and rot protection. Same stuff you see on decks. The termite piece is the sprayed on the lumber. The ground (before the slab) was treated as well for termite protection before building starts. That type of lumber is an extra ounce of protection for the house.

Now, what they sprayed the walls with that Emma was asking about is probably just mold and rot protection.

Edit: I'm talking about this piece that looks greenish that runs on top of your footers on the exterior walls. (Where the hell is Jkel when I need him, lol)
