Does the BA head unit put out a flat signal if intercepted before the BA amp?

I'm looking to replace my speakers, add a sub, and replace the BA amp, but keep the factory head unit. Will I get a flat response curve without bass attenuation, timing correction, and all that other crap if I use the RCA wiring harness from ST. Or will I need to use a JL Fix 86 to clean up the signal?

In other words, is bass attenuation and timing correction done at the BA head unit or in the BA amp? My gut feeling is that it's in the head unit, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

My car is a 2014 Camaro SS convertible with nav.

The EQ is applied at the amp in the BA system. The head unit is clean.

Thank you; that is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Would you be able to tell me how you know this? Is it documented somewhere or did you hook up a meter and measure the response curve yourself?

Think your talking about doing what i did using that FARK harness? I added a Amp to the RCA Outputs on it for my Sub and Rear Speakers. They work fine.

He did tons of testing. Very knowledgeable guy when it comes to the BA system.
