Thumbs down * * * CAMARO BUYERS BEWARE /Shady dealer practices * * *

Now is the time dealers will be wanting 2011 inventory.....The way SOME "questionable" dealers will be doing this is, punching their lot cars SOLD in the GM system so they get new 2011 allocation.....but the car really isn't sold. What does this mean to you? That car on the lot "advertised" online etc, has the warranty clock ticking, as well as the other "new car" things such as XM or OnStar.

You may hear a line such as "Think of the savings for the few days loss of warranty or OnStar".... I say call Chevy customer assistance at 800-222-1020 and tell them a dealer is marking cars SOLD to manipulate inventory.

If you are shipping a sold car or have a legitimate customer, that's one thing....but leaving them on the lot is another

So ASK THEM, DOES THIS CAR HAVE FULL WARRANTY?

If anyone on the site does this, I'd want to know about it, too. That's some questionable dealing.

EXACTLY - if anyone runs across a dealer doing / offering this, POST IT UP!

That's why I post the VINS of my IN STOCK cars, and have done so when I've had lot cars available

No worries though, hoping to buy from a dealer that I know is on the up-and-up. You might know him, goes by the name of Camaro Scotty?

Good post, Scotty.

I have seen this happen, mostly when the 2010's were pretty new. Dealers sale-carded them so they could earn more. I'm sure now that the 2011's are hitting lots, the same thing is going to happen.

Ridiculous!

Since the cars are identical...if a dealer cannot sell a 2010 model, what makes them think they can sell a 2011?
