There is already an unnamed Buick to go along with the Caddy C5

My guess is those are the more door models.

He makes some reasonable points. I saw something the other day about a $105K Kia. A fookin' Kia! So I'm a little skeptical that GM can keep the price down in this current, chaotic global economy even if they wanted to. (which they probably don't!)

Somehow, a "performance sedan" never really rang in me loins!

This is going to be a 2 door performance car with 2 engine options:

Ls will get a reworked 2.7l i4 turbo
SS will get the upcoming ls6

Higher trims I won't speculate on, but that's what's coming.

As crazy as an I4 sounds to me, it creates 20 more ft-lbs of torque than my L99.

C&D tested one in a Colorado vs a Taco in off road capability.

Despite having more power (HP+ TQ)than the Taco the Chev was slower in every measurement to the bewilderment of the C&D staff

They were pretty close in weight and final drive gear.

They also were not impressed with that engine in the CT4.

My nephew bought a new Chev PU with that engine and traded it in for a V8 Tundra less than a year later

I have no personal experience with it myself but it wouldn't be my first choice

I'm probably wrong to someone in GM's engineering dept but to me, you're asking a smaller engine to give it everything it's got to get to these HP & TQ ratings, leaving little 'headroom' to spare. Just seems built to hopefully get through the warranty period.

Im ok with "less than V8" power or automatic trans.V8 and manual trans should be offered for those that want them, but a 4 door Camaro is NOT a Camaro...maybe use the same parts as the two door, add the two extra ugly azz doors and call it a Caprice, but a 4 door sedan should NOT be named Camaro.

Ford was smart enough to offer the newer Bronco's in 2 and 4 door. It could easily be done with a Camaro too. But that's twice the inventory, parts, etc. And GM isn't exactly coming off a walk-off, grand slam with the 6th Gen Camaro.

This isn't any new news, they are just repeating everything we already know.

Also, they completely contradict themselves. At first they say " The Chevy Camaro is officially headed back to production... " but then a couple paragraphs down they say " according to sources familiar with the program, GM has approved a new Camaro ..." So it's not official, they are just quoting the same source GM Authority quoted a month ago.

But don't go full retro again.

I think that a 2nd gen style could look good if done right. Just don't try to make it look "futuristic" like they started doing with the 6ths. Keep it simple like the 5ths.I like the 2015 LS/LT body style better than any of the high-end versions.
