skip shift question

So I just bought my 2014 ss and I plan on getting the skip shift eliminator. My question is when my car says the 1-4 on the screen should I still be able to go into second? It still let's me shift smoothly into second is that normal on the 14's?

My buddy's 2010 used to lock him out and had to go to 4th but mine let's me go right into second no problem. Is this normal for the 2014?

No, you should be locked out. Sounds like it already has a Skip Shift Eliminator on it.

Sometimes the screen will flash the 1-4 message but you likely accelerated enough to bypass the "lock out".

Happens to me frequently. Majority of the time I'm locked out. BTW I don't use the skip shift eliminator. I've learned to swiftly move it over as if going to 4th but then go right to 2nd and you're not locked out. Also, jumping to 3rd instead of 4th is very easy and you don't bog.

It is a V8 Camaro. Stop driving so slow as to activate the skip shift.

When mine still had it enabled (for only 1 hour of my entire time owning it), when the message popped up on the screen, if my hand moved fast enough, the shifter would be in 2 anyways before the solenoid had me blocked out...if I was slow it didn't. That's probably all that's happening.

Tune it to remove it...then you'll never see the message on the dash either.

Thanks. I know it can't have it already it was brand new with 4 miles. I must just be going to second before it can lock me out because it never has. I'll run the eliminator till I get tuned.
