Vibration in rear at 80 mph+. DS bolts are tight
Hey guys I’m new here! Having an issue with my car and was hoping y’all could help me figure it out. I have a 2010 SS 6 speed manual with 85k miles on it. Awhile back I broke the driveshaft in it due to the bolts being loose which from reading other forums is a known issue with these cars. Anyways they had came loose and I did a 30 roll and as soon as I hit it. BOOM! Driveshaft broke where it connects to the rear end. It had torn up that aluminum shield that goes above the driveshaft, had to have that removed and the clips that hold the ebrake cables didn’t really hold the cables anymore. Fast forward about 2 weeks and I ordered another driveshaft from a guy off of Facebook with 28k miles and got it put in. Then the ebrake cables were rubbing on the end of the driveshaft. All I had to do was toss a couple of zip ties in there and zip tie the cables away from the driveshaft. Everything has been all fine until here lately I’ve been getting a vibration coming from the rear of the car at about 80-81+ mph. So I’m not to sure what it could be. New driveshaft and I had loctite put on the bolts as well. Got up underneath the other day and just felt by hand to see if any of the bolts are loose which they weren’t but I might still take a wrench to them and make sure they’re good and tight. What do y’all think it could be?? Could the carrier bearing be bad? Or what about one or if not both of the rear wheel hubs? Also I had unbolted the mufflers because when I bought the car it was waaayyy to quiet so it kinda dangles and hits the read end sometimes but I don’t think the exhaust could be hitting that fast at a constant speed and only do it at a certain mph. I’m lost and could use the help. Please and thank you in advance!
