Cooper Zeon

Just thought I would throw this out there as there are always threads on what replacement tire should I get.
I got a set of Cooper RS3-S 275/40/20's. 2 days of driving in cold weather (20-30*), I have to say, for a summer tire, it does pretty well. I do this because I always hear how bad tire x does in cold weather. Yes, if you drive it hard it will spin. But, of course, you shouldnt be driving like you would on a sunny 80* day. These tires cornered well and stop well. Road noise is an improvement over P-Zero. I will save my overall opinion untill warmer weather arrives. For the price and design, I believe this to be an excellent budget "summer" tire.
Again, just throwing it out there as Cooper tires get very little play here.

Glad to see this! I just ordered a set of these for myself, 275/40/20s up front and 305/35/20s in the rear. Total cost was $821 including tax and shipping!

www.treaddepot.com

They also have the Zeon RS3-A, it's the all season counterpart to the RS3-S. (I didn't look into those because I'm in TX and my car isn't a DD, so summer tires are all I need.)

Thanks for the info. When it's time for me to replace the P Zeros, I'll most likely get either the Cooper Zeon RS3-S or Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500's. I don't go to the track and I drive pretty normal - no burnouts, so I think one of these brands should work well for me. Just can't make a final decision on which one.

Didn't work for me as Discount tire direct does not carry the 305s! Had to use TreadDepot

What is a typical price if you bring tires a shop for mounting and balancing? Is it worth buying online and pay a local shop to mount and balance them?

Discount tire direct was free shipping/no tax. At my local discount tire it was around $100 for dismount & mounting/balance of all 4.

I was told those tires I ordered are no longer being made so I settled on Uniroyal Tiger Paw 245/50 ZR19 GTZ AS2 165.00 each from Super Walmart 753.66 out the door only took them a week to order them all 4 with 50,000 mile warranty

I'm ready for winter now
