I have a 2012 Camaro SS with the L99 engine. with 70k miles. On a 300 mile trip I noticed it was taking longer to start than normal and the code P0340 popped up. I bought a new camshaft sensor per the code but can't find out where it goes.

*A lot of the pictures that came up when I googled it showed the crankshaft position sensor location, not the camshaft sensor location.

Look behind the crank pulley on the right hand side. You will see it and the connector for the cable that leads to the wiring harness. It’s a nightmare to get to with everything on the car.

Got it fixed, took a couple hours.
I could do it again in 30-45mins.

* 1.Start with bottom plug on bracket and unplug
2. remove bottom bracket bolt
3. remove top bracket bolt
4. unplug camshaft senor
5. push bracket down and out of the way
6. remove camshaft senor

* camshaft sensor is hard to get out, I turned in back and forth and then got on it with plyers and pulled/wiggled straight out.
