Lowered with Race Star Recluse wheels.

Any issues with running 17x7 fronts and 18x10.5 on a lowered SS 1Le? Or should I do 18x5 fronts and 18x10.5. Mostly for puttin around town and the highway.

Not sure if it will help, but I have 18x5 Recluse wheels using a 1" lowered Z28 strut on the front. They also have the Gen6 ZL1 calipers (390mm rotor). They barely clear the caliper but they do clear. The offset pushes them out so from the outside they appear the same as a 18x8.5 Recluse. I also have the 18x10.5s on the rear with a 10.5 M&H slick with Z28 shocks that have the spring seat milled to lower it half an inch. I do have the park brake cable zip tied back with stainless zip ties.

2011 Vert - 416/w 230/236 .612/.602 115lsa, 1LE suspension w/32mm rear bar. Z28 diff. ZL1 brakes.

Ty. I'm more concerned about the rears. I'm sure it'll be fine since it'll be the same tire height and slightly narrower compared to my 315/20r2 tires.

I'm trying to see find the 18x8.5 instead of going for the 17s. Idk why, I think how it's staggered it won't look right. Also the fat tire in the front is getting to me.

I've run 18x10.5 Z06 wheels with 335/30 Hoosiers (they did not fit the wheels very well) and it only rubbed the inner fender skirt slightly because they have a 56mm offset. I also ran a 7mm spacer with those.

I just got the 18x5 because the 18x8.5s could not take anything smaller than a 235. I would offer to sell them to you, but I am sure it would be a fortune to ship with the 235s on them.

I would think those would be fine even with some drop in the rear, but I have no specific experience with them.

I run Z28 shocks and springs and the spring seats on the rear shocks are milled to lower the car half an inch. The fronts struts had the mount point relocated to lower the fronts an inch. I picked them up from an SCCA racer who worked with Chevy on how best to set up his 1LE for his class. He moved to coil overs for adjustability.

I have seen people say that moving to a Z28 set up only lowers the car because the tire height is shorter and I have seen people say moving to the Z28 set up lowered their car with the same wheels. I did not measure before and after so I'm not sure how much the shocks/struts and springs might lower the car from stock, but it is at least lowered half an inch in the rear and 1" in the front. The racer said Chevy told him to run it this way to help reduce the understeer these cars are prone to.

I run a 305/30/20 on a ZL1 wheel for the fronts on the street and track and it does rub the bottom of the spring perch from time to time. I can't feel it while driving, but you can see the paint missing and the mark on the tires. I'll move down to a 295 or 285 on the next round. This is a direct result of relocating the strut mount an inch closer to the perch to get the 1" drop. If you drop with springs, you will not have that problem.

I also run ZL1 springs (half inch drop all the way around) with the ZL1 Goodyears on the back of the vert with a 20x10.5 Niche wheel and have run 315/35/20s on those wheels with no issues. On the turbo car I currently run a 325/30/20 on a ZL1 wheel for both street and track with no issues.

For the quarter, I now have the 18x10.5s with slicks and 18x5 skinnies. I am in the process of making one of my trailer fenders removable to give a little more breathing room on the wheels. Once that is done, I'll be taking it back to the track and dialing in the last year's worth of changes.

I know that is a lot, but hopefully it helps.

Thank You. Appreciate the detailed response.

I know the 325s will fit, but based on pics I've seen they seem to be stock height.
