If you are doing the work yourself you can always take it in steps.

Do the LT's

Then cat delete

Then x pipe

And last mufflers if you want.

I love my NPP!

Thanks for everyones input. Sounds like I will be going with LT's and Xpipe with a controller. Not sure if I want to go cat-less or not though. I love the sound of no cats, but the wife hates the gas smell lol

If the aftermarkets flow better, it ain't by much at all. GM's exhausts are pretty darn good.

Go with the long-tubes first. The bigger the better (2" or 1 7/8").....and don't be fazed by all that talk of needing "back-pressure".

Once you install the headers, THEN make your determination if you need the axle-back. Go for the sound you want, because from a power perspective, they're all in the same ballpark.

NPP VS MAGNAFLOW Cat-back Street Series

I am looking at a opposite delima. New to me 2015 1ss/1le with Magnaflow Cat-Back street series, quad tip installed. I have the NPP that came with the car. Street series just doesn’t have enough low end growl, but I am not sure if NPP sound outweighs the performance advantage of the cat back street series.

There’s zero performance advantage between the 2. It’s pure sound.

Don't tell her, but you will still get the smell until the cats heat up. Just keep the windows and doors closed until everything is heated up and you won't smell anything.

I started with stock SS LS3
Added Kooks LT’s with cats and RDP tune.
Sounded good but still too quiet for me with the large jerry can mufflers
Added X pipe and NPP mufflers but still left the stock SS resonators on the car

Certainly more volume on the car esp above 4K rpm. Flaps are always open. I am satisfied with the setup. Thinking about removing the resonators, but don’t want the drone as I have none at the moment. Cruising at 70mph in 6th gear, the car is quiet.

I'm curious what the stock NPP exhaust would be worth, as a used take off complete setup, would be worth.

Yep! This is true. I just installed my headers and it sounds great and not obnoxious.

There is a DYI post on the NPP that allows you to run in Stealth, Always Open or Factory. All you need is to cut one wire and wire up a three position switch.

The stealth is nice because it allows you to make the car as quiet as possible. This is huge if you have neighbors and you have to leave early for work.

I second the 3 way switch. Very basic and easy

I have stainless power LTs cats and npp save the couple hundred bucks go cat less I’m pretty much running open headers and I don’t smell any fuel in the car and when I finally hook everything back up I’m going to leave the cats out.

Unless you have to pass emissions
