cant understand

As many know by now I just ordered 14 s s and the only thing that doesn't make sense is why is the fuel door on wrong side of the car when everything else Chevy makes is on driver side
I mean who want to walk around to fill up. My only guess is to make car look clean on that side .anyway this was not enough to keep me from buying one of Americas hottest muscle cars

I noticed that too, but I like it. when the door is on the passenger side you don't have to worry about hitting anything with your door (which is long on this car) on anything when you open it. all my other vehicles (Japanese) have the fuel door on the driver side and I always have to be careful opening the door.

as for the reason, the only thing I've been able to come up with is that cars with an interior fuel door button put the door on the driver side. car without put it on the passenger side. but that's just a guess.

And you also won't hit the pump guards or the pump with your driver's side door when you do stop to fill up. I hated the fact that my Pontiac's fuel door was on the driver's side. I had to make sure I stopped where my door would end up opening in a spot the pump, guards, oil displays, trash barrels, etc, weren't. Pain in the ass.

Walking around to the other side of the car...well, if you don't want to do that, go to a full service gas station and have them pump it. Now you don't even have to get out of the car.

I know you're going crazy from the wait Wayne, but hang in there.

I was going to say this, this exactly correct, with these big ole doors, it's nice to open it away from the pump.

It's not that long of a walk around. Lot's of cars have the fuel door on the same side. It'll be alright.

Wrong side? Where is the rule that says the cap must be on the drivers side?

I prefer it on the passenger side for the reason others have mentioned.

I have to take 3 extra steps to get to the other side of my car!? FML! Actually I like it on the passenger's side. Most others have it on drivers side so when there is 5 cars lined up for the driver's side pump, I just pull into the empty passenger side one and go.

I had a '13 Equinox and it was on the "wrong" side also. I always hated that.

I thought I read somewhere that the gas door is on the right side because the car is made in Canada...

My 3 other cars, including an 05 Silverado are all on the driver's side. What a pain in the ass to have it on the other side. #firstworldproblems

I heard it was a safety thing. If you run out of gas, you pull over on the right, the fuel door is away from from traffic. At least in North America
