If you tune out your O2 sensor does that mean you won't pass an emissions test?

My HFCs have been on a couple of weeks now and I have had the P0430 CEL twice now. The car was not cold but I noticed it happened when the car was in a lower gear and I let off the throttle completely from about 5K RPM. I am suspecting that would make sense and be running a little richer when the engine is doing the braking. I keep clearing it with my scanner. Thoughts?

I would love to find a tuner for the v6 but have not seen one. I have the SCT for my Mustang.

I thought solos never threw codes on lfx cars . They say this over and over as a big selling point . I don't want to buy a handheld device to clear codes and it makes me second guess buying their cats this fall . I don't wanna deal with a cel on a brand new car

Nothing showed up.

Trifecta tune was suggested. Any pros or cons?

The high flows are simply not as good at cleaning up emissions as the OE ones. Whether it's your sensors being more picky than others (it's probably not) or some of the HFCs cleaning better than others (it probably is) this problem is going to happen eventually

A OEM cat will last longer than a high flow cat, there is less material in there and as soon as it gets right below what your computer says is OK it's going to throw a code. Return them for new ones or tune it out

Either way, someone like OP is going to have trouble being in CA (I know it's old) but assuming he still has his car he won't pass smog regardless of whether or not the HFCs throw codes
