ZL1 huh? It would sound better as a Z28.

You could always paint them body color without a stripe, unless you have to get that, or put a black stripe package on to mute them a bit. Myself, should I be so lucky to afford one, is to swap the hood with something else. Like an SLP ZL1 hood. They'll likely be available at some point. Like their exclusive CME stuff used to be for the 4th gen, until they started to sell to everyone.

I'm glad they called it a ZL1 though. It resonates with Camaro buffs because there was only ONE car the ZL1 was designated for. [edit: Oops, I just realized I forgot about the ZL1 Corvette. Make that two cars.]

Upon a closer look at the pics I'm not liking the front end or steering wheel at all. I'm glad I wasn't planning on buying one now. It's cool for those that do want it though. I'm sure it'll be a beast.

There still may be one. I'm hoping for a z28 Boss competitor.

Love it. Rather than "HP", we have some heritage involved while progressing into the future. GM could have spent their big chip here with the Z28 nameplate, but it appears they're holding it for the new platform to make more big waves in the future. Instead of getting one great car now, we get a great car now and a greater one later. Couldn't be happier.

I know you are joking because Ford is notorious for showing things you can't get in the showroom. Go to NAIAS and see how many cars Ford had on display that you can't actually go buy. LOL Nice caps by the way.

WOW I did not see this coming ZL-1 who knows maybe a Twin Turbo V6 will be called the Z/28.

All I can say is that I want one I am afraid we will see a clost to $60k MSRP on this car.

The ZL1 name is definitely better than "HP Edition," but I'm going to pass and wait and hope......

True enough - same story for the Aston Martin V12 Vantage - the "unpainted" carbon grilles are sometimes painted so they don't stand out so much.
On reflection, my favourite colour is CGM - so that with black would look pretty good in my eyes.

I'll see if it comes to the UK - if it does (and it's relatively unlikely, even though the ZR1 is here) I may put my name down... hmm.

We better not be getting any crap from motor trend. "I can't wrap my hands around the wheel." SHUT UP! I was doing it just 30 minutes ago and it was EASY!

I'm reserving my final judgment until I see more pictures and get to see it this weekend..

I agree.. ZL1? Really? SLP already has a ZL1 Camaro out there.

but at the moment, looks like I'm keeping my SS.
