Hotrod goes 12.95 @ 112.92 in an LS3
Well, I know this will have to be moved into the Reviews Sticky, but I thought it was too cool and needed more exposure for a little bit. It's in the July issue and they review several models. I haven't read it all but just though this was probably going to be as good as it gets. Maybe the track and weather could've been a little better, and maybe another driver (Evan Smith) could've eeked another tenth or two, but I think these are solid numbers and are right in line with what I was thinking. I'll try to find a link.

Not bad at all. It sure helps when the mag doing the review has somebody who can drive!

Ok - reading more... Ok - I don't think times are corrected or official because it was through a VBox, and not actual times on the track. Still, they're claiming LS3 times were within a half a tenth.
Still reading...

Nice that's about good enough to hunt down the truck of death that's been a plague in my hood... (one of those 100k dodge trucks with the viper v10).

1. Pre-production car.
2. Good weather. 3. Not actual track timing equipment. All of that is in the article.

Exaclty. Although, the engineer with them in the article says these were pretty regular times to what he was getting. Still, this is probably as about optimal as it's going to get. I think we'll still see a 12.8 in a car that's broken in with a good driver on a prep'd track - it won't be the norm' though, IMVHO.

12.95 was computed using a 1ft rollout like a real dragstrip would. Without using the rollout the e.t. dropped to 13.24. This is useful to know when comparing to other magazines that do not use the rollout method.
