Is the SS camaro too expensive?

I was just looking at the prices of both the new Camaro and Mustang. The Camaro 2SS starts at 34,995.The Mustang GT starts at 27,995 and the Gt premium starts at 30,995.Now dont get me wrong,I feel the Camaro is the better car. However,How many people do you think will spend that much more money on a camaro?Of course fans of the Camaro will likely pay more for a Camaro.Im talking about the general public.Should GM have made the Camaro so the pricing would be within a 1,000 dollars of the Mustang?I just dont want to see the Camaro go the same route as the GTO.After all this time waiting I would hope that our Beloved Camaro will stick around and not :flag1:disappear in 4 or 5 years.

The "general public" leans more towards the V6's than the SS and GT anyway.

If anything, the Challenger SRT8 and R/T are way too expensive. The Camaro SS is a BARGAIN. If the Camaro were to disappear in a few years, I doubt it would be because it was undercut in price by the Mustang.

I remember when I first heard the pricing for the 1SS, I was stunned it wasn't $10,000 more.

The starting price of the GT doesn't include brembo's or an IRS rear. The SS is the best performance car bargain out there.

The SS is in NO way too expensive. In my opinion it is the best possible "bang for the buck" out there. A 400/426 hp car that starts out at 31K is pretty damn good. Plus the brembo brakes and other features along with the pure awesomeness of the way the car looks. I think it is great. But then again it's just my opinion.

I think it's actually quite a value. I was just commenting to someone last night, it seems like the Camaro (both base and SS) should cost more than it does. Not to say the other muscle cars don't have great value as well. It's power in the hands of the people. Something for the common man.

Well, it's less expensive than my G35 and has a bigger engine, more horsepower, better brakes, and looks a whole lot cooler. I don't think it's too expensive at all.

No, given what all you get for the price. Keep in mind the base model prices are different, but if you actually option out a comparable Mustang, the price is very close.

I think one needs to do an 'apples to apples" comparison -

look at each feature and price for it -- and I think you'll find that both the
1SS and 2SS are a bargain.......as is the 1LS at $23,000.

For what it's worth -- most people coming into the CHevy Exhibit in most cities would ask what price the Camaro would start........

When told $22,995, they were shocked -- most said "I thought about 30-35K!"

The market will tell us..............
