KEEPING RIMS CLEAN ?????

What's the best way to keep the rims clean. The Brake dust is a pain to remove. Is a there good product out there to use or just manual labor with your hands....LoL...

Hah. Ceramic pads...or

Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner or similar product. Doesn't do much for cleaning wheels, but once properly applied, you just have to hose the wheel off.

I use Adam’s Wheel Cleaner and their red wheel brush. Works fantastic for the face of the wheel and gets it all out from between the spokes. I use a wheel woolie for the barrels which is necessary. Also cleans the caliper and exhaust tips very effectively.

Then I seal them with CarPro HydrO2 which is a MUST HAVE product for wheels, UTVs boats, and cars you don’t want to take the time to wax/seal. The brake dust falls off and you just need a light brush job once they’re sealed. If the build up is from multiple drives then I’ll use wheel cleaner and seal them again after they’re cleaned. Any serious wheel cleaner will chew right through a Sealant or wax so just be prepared to reseal every wash you use a wheel cleaner which is easy peasy with Hydro2 (Buy Lite or dilute it 5:1/6:1).

Adam’s wheel cleaning videos are pretty good. You don’t have to use his products necessarily but his process is what I follow (it’s not really “his” it’s just a good way to do it than many people follow).

Powerstop Pads (search forums for version/size) will cut down on 90% of brake dust. Would also recommend you ceramic coat the rims, worth the time and money.

See my link below regarding wheels -its a sonax and hydro2 how-to with pics....

But you will always have brake dust on the wheels, no matter what you do , until you change the pads.

I'm also a big fan of Adam's wheel cleaner and most of their products. You can also ceramic coat your wheels.... much less dust sticks to them and it makes it much easier to clean!

Ceramic coating the wheels helps a lot, and makes it easier to clean them

Powerstop Z26 pads 1835 front / 1053 rear is the #1 cure for the brake dust blues.

#2 is a good ceramic/hydrophobic coating.

I have the Z26 brake pads on my Hellcat and they are phenomenal.

Almost zero brake dust and the braking performance did not change very much when compared to the stock pads.

Brake pads were super easy to change on the Hellcat, I would assume it would be the same procedure on the ZL1

Is that sealant okay on the rotors?

I’d try to keep it off the rotors.

Yeah won’t hurt a thing. The first instant the brake pads bite it will shred it right off.

Poor boys world wheel cleaner. No kidding spray wheels with water, spray on the wheel cleaner, let sit for about 2 minutes and rinse off with water. I’ll do a light dry off with micro fiber and detail spray just to give it a shine but hardly any dirt on the microfiber after the rinse.
