I mean that they will tell you it was built by Walther's toy factory (slightly true in a way, actually, my info is it is partly made in their sporting goods division instead of the same place that will make say a P99), they will tell you it is a Zamak piece of shit, it is a jam-o-matic, etc etc etc.

I find that mine works as advertised. With bulk .22LR I get about 10-12 FTF per box of 525. Dunno about being a target pistol though, even though I got to be quite accurate with mine. It's certainly no match for say a Ruger MKII or MKIII re: accuracy.

Mine has both barrels and both slides. I never used the longer barrel but once, I found no appreciable accuracy difference. My own feeling is that an interference between the extension, barrel, and slide contribute to the slide cracking issues people cite.

I bought mine because it was a small pistol with a short sight radius and I reasoned this would exaggerate things I was doing wrong while shooting. I think it made me a better shot for sure.

I recommend heeding the manufacturer's advice about using high velocity ammunition in it exclusively. Mine loves CCI minimag and likes Remington Golden Bullet. Winchester Wildcat is about as good as RGB in my P22 but very dirty.

I also recommend using a dry lube instead of oil.

First let me rephrase, target gun isn't the word I should have used, more just like a range gun. Anyways, thanks for the recommendation . I have a Ruger MKII in the house, just isn't my gun. My only intention when I bought the P22, was to have something that was cheap and fun to shoot at the range. And in my opinion, this checks both of my requirements.

Do have one more question about this gun, where do you recommend to buy a second mag for it? Was going to check my local stores, but I highly doubt they will have it.

Second mags...I went to a gun show and bought extras. Walther units, "B" suffix. Supposedly, the "A" mags were problems. Wouldn't you know, both my A mags work great, the Bs are trouble in mine. My P22 was made in 2002

Ordering them from Smith&Wesson might be pricey. You might just have to keep your eyes open; I don't see them around here often either.

So I picked up a new toy this weekend!

It was on sale and luckily the wife wasn't too mad. Anyway it's a brand spanking new Magnum Research Desert Eagle .50 AE!

Holy crap this thing is awesome! Pretty good recoil, but it's manageable. My .357 Mag Revolver hurts my hands when I shoot it and this doesn't hurt or feel uncomfortable at all.

Very nice. I love shooting my Dad's .357 Desert Eagle. Already told him it's mine

You'll be happy you did
got one for my wife, cheap ammo doesn't feed right. Minimag works great like you said.

Solid pistol, but get a Springfield XD-S in 9mm instead. Thinner, and shoots better, IMO. MUCH better trigger.

I've heard good things about the XD-S as well. Figured I'd go to the range and try both of them out.

Try the .45 version of the XD-S if you can too. Similar feel to the 9mm version and only real difference aside from recoil is that it drops off a little sooner than the 9mm version. I carry the .45 and my buddy carries the 9mm. Both love the XD-S, totally random that we bought the same style.

I have a S&W M&P Shield .40S&W. It's okay and it's a decent shooter, but I prefer my XD-S .45 ACP over the M&P Shield any day.

My biggest gripe about the M&P Shield is the retarded placement of the takedown lever below the barrel feed ramp in the mag well. Worst design ever! I can't get my fat ass finger down there; I have to use a tool to manipulate that lever.

Denis you have the Saiga correct? Where did you pick yours up at? Anything to look for when hunting for one?
