Center Console USB Died/DIY Replacement
Wanted to share my experience in case anyone else has an issue with the USB port in the center console.
I use one of granddaughter's old Nanos in my Camaro to listen to play lists; went out this morning to find it would not register on MyLink, so I started trouble shooting: 1) tried another cable - no power 2) tried another device - no power 3) checked fuses - good 4) disconnected battery for 5 minutes - still no power 5) pulled USB socket from vehicle - found it, the inner black tab had broken off Replacing the socket is a fairly easy DIY if anyone else has an issue like mine. Here's the steps I used: 1) used a small flat head to depress the tab on the top of the socket and popped the top half out. 2) using a flat trim removal tool to hold it out, I used a small 'crowbar' shaped trim removal tool to pry the bottom half out. 3) disconnected the two harnesses. Took about 10 minutes to remove; new one is on the way from Amazon and should take less then half the time to reinstall.
