New Holley LS3 cast intake manifold

http://www.holley.com/300-116.asp

Looks pretty cool and although no prices have been announced yet, I've been reading under $650 bucks with fuel rails.

Any chance it would fit under the stock hood?

I am sure this will go down the same path the weiand intake went down.

I think the Holley intake wont fit under the stock hood...... I could be wrong on that though

SC2150 thats a nice piece! .... but probably beyond my $$ range :(

Redsap05, I totally agree. The weiand actually LOST power over the LS6 when hot.

Snoop, yes it's pricey. Made by John Beck to fit our 115mm TB and fit under stock hoods. Here is the standard height:

+2

They will also suffer from a lot more heat soak than a plastic manifold which robs power.

I guess we will see.

I don't even need to click on the link to know what manifold this thread is talking about.

and IT IS SEX!

it's a really nice design. Blows the doors off of anything else in the market at the moment imho, besides sheetmetal intakes and the cary intake (both are well into the 4 digit range).

It isn't out to the public yet (I believe VA speed has a few of the protypes at their shop right now), but it would be worth getting a cowl hood for. lol.

different tops:

Dual 4150s

DUAL 4500s!!!!!

The unit Holley made for the ls1 lost power compaired to stock due to heat soaking.

good thing the 5th gen doesn't have an ls1, nor is the design for the modular intake anything remotely close to the street warrior intake.

I didnt even look at the link...I figured it was just a metal version of the LS3 manifold like the weiand was on the ls1.

This might be something to look at.

One of these intakes might make it onto my third gen when the 370 is built. It doesn't run long enough to worry about heatsoak.

Will this intake be made to make power on a stock short block with just cam and bolt-ons or would it need a stroker/high compression race build to work?

the intake with the top from the very top picture would be more suited for a cam setup, but would really shine in a greater than stock displacement motor or possibly a max effort cam only setup. Probably wouldn't make very much more power on a bolt on setup

The other two tops are pretty much for a drag race only application, as it would require ditching the factory pcm for an aftermarket one, because currently there are no drive-by-wire 4150/4500 throttle bodies.

That and if you have the need for two 4150's, let alone two 4500's, you aren't driving that thing on the street anyways. lol.

Installation Notes
These parts should be used for the following applications: Racing/Performance/Street Rodder where hood restrictions are NOT a consideration. Top can be mounted forward or backward.
