The Redline says auto/manual transmission on it.

so I have some Amsoil ATF that I got accidentally. I can use this in when I change the transmission fluid in my SS (manual gearbox)

If it's synthetic and meets dexron standard (user manual has details), then yes.

Any idea on the amount of fluid it takes? Based my volume on the zl1 seeing as it has the same trans.

I used the GM fluid as well. Shifted slightly better afterwards. Seems to have held up fine to track (road coarse) use.

nope, just spill and fill on level ground till little comes out the fill plug. i ended up using some clear plastic tubing routed thru the engine bay to the fill plug and a funnel. worked.

Your 11 ss shouldn't have a ZL1 trans with external cooler like a 1LE though.

yes its not external but the cooler lines should be the same. maybe try checking if the cooler has a drain and fill as well. as long as your are getting fluid from the fill plugs the lines would be full.

I just changed my fluid to Redline D4-AFT at 3269 miles and it is like someone just installed a new transmission. Most dramatic experience, that I have ever had with a fluid change, so much smoother.
