They don't charge anything. They actually just point me to the back and I go back there and dump the oil out of my container into a big dumpster looking thing. I guess they don't want to get their hands dirty.

Excellent - that sounds like a not-for-fee service... right?

You can dump it at Walmart if they have an auto lube dept also... for free!

On the LS3, the oil plug is parallel to the ground correct? In other words you have to get to it from the side and not underneath right? I'm fairly certain I've found the right one but want to triple check and make sure I'm not going to undo something I shouldn't be. It's a 15mm bolt parallel to the floor a few inches from the oil filter on a silver thing that says something like GM Made in the USA or something.

Ok, another question. If you're changing the oil other than when the DIC indicates Change Oil, is setting the oil life indicator back to 100% via the DIC enough or do you HAVE to also do the Gas pedal reset method?

Since there's no change oil indicator to "go out", how do you know you've done it successfully? That's if you have to do it in the first place.

Thanks,
Michael J.

Well this is timely. I just had my first oil change at 1100 miles and was a bit shocked by what the dealership charged for the oil. $9.99 per quart. I do like Banshee's details.
