Dropped the car off at the dealer on tuesday. They pulled and replaced my transmission all because the 2nd gear synros were bad. All covered under warranty. Oh yeah.... Only 2500 miles on the car.

I had noticed it getting more difficult to shift into 2nd and 3rd, but now that it is grinding gears, it is definitely going to the dealer for service.
UPDATE: After reading more, I decided to try some different fluid before taking it in to the dealer. Right after I posted the quoted message on 1/8, I changed the fluid to Royal Purple Synchromax and I noticed the shifting was slightly smoother, but the nibble was still evident going in to 2nd and 3rd. Today, I decided that if one fluid improved the situation, then another might be even better. I drained out the RP and filled with Mobil1 Synthetic ATF (this is DexIII, not DexVI, so it is the right stuff). I am happy to report that my shifting trouble is now gone. I waited until the car was completely cold and it was only 25 degrees outside during the test drive. All gears are now very smooth.

Glad to hear it's working well for you. I'm sort of surprised since GM does not recommend straight DexIII anymore in the Tremec. I believe the GM specified trans fluid is a mixture of DexIII and friction modifiers for the syncro's. Perhaps the Mobil 1 has some properties that the straight GM DexIII does not have.

If it only does it when cold, Royal Purple tranny fluid may help.

i'll share my experience, purchased the car on 1-21 with 19 miles on the odo noticed the grinding going to 2nd (either up or downshifting) and made note to the salesman. i let it slide since i still had work shoes on but the next day i went to the dealership, demonstrated the problem only avoidable by rev matching. 1-27 (365 miles on the odo) trans replacement.
