Ram Air Hood + Injen CAI
Hi Guys,
I just thought of something, probably has been discussed before... but, have any of you guys heard of any benefits of having a Ram Air hood for a true CAI? (ie: Injen) I would imagine it could be both good or bad. Good because still more ventilation going on under the hood. Bad, because that might force hot air to be blown DOWNWARDS to the Injen CAI. LOL Personally, I love the look of Ram Air Hood for the Camaro, but obviously, I want the form to follow some sort of function =p. This is just a thought though, I might go carbon fiber hood for weight reduction. Let me know what you guys think! =D

I really don't think it will affect the performance one way or the other.

There was a mention in another thread about ram hoods about this. I would have to fab up the underside of my hood to do this. It was put out before it really was finished. Now it seems as if RevolutionSS has let it die. Love my hood, by the way.
I have an Airaid in the box but it fits the stock hood, not mine, to seal. Was planning to put it up on Ebay. Not real crazy about my Injen long tube but I don't see myself doing anything to my hood in the near future in order to utilize the Airaid. I think that the Jannetty thread results and their opinion that opening the Airaid up some more would see more HP and TQ. The hood would do that. |

Thanks PieNsky for that info.
I'm looking at the RK sport hood, i think that would look beast on a V6. Of course it comes with those Heat vents (forgot what they are called) so the engine bay cools faster. Always a nice touch. but I might only get the hood when I get FI.. since the Ram Air won't be doing much to my Injen.

i really liked the look of the Leno camaro. seems in the past there was a big advantage to the ram air hood but no one has really done it yet on the V6.....
