Anyone Installed an Old Fashioned Shift Kit in the A6???

A tune would be easy, but common sense says that you risk losing your warranty. That said, an old fashioned shift kit installed inside the transmission may be a good way to go to increase line pressure and get firmer, quicker shifts.

I've never been inside one of these new ones - can it be done? Does anyone sell them?

If something blew inside the trans, it would be easy to take out...

there are no aftermarket parts yet for the 6L80e(besides converters),, only clutch/seal kits, shift feel and pressures changed with a tune

In short, generic shift kits probably won't work.

I was told by a GM tech that the new tranny's don't have a valve body anymore, all solenoid controlled, therefore probably easily done through ECU.

No valve body? Interesting...I need to get a look inside on of these things.

A tune would indeed be an easy way to go, but I'm one of those that is paranoid about my warranty.

I don't know about the 6L80 E but I have a shift kit in a 4L60E that was built by Finish Line Transmissions it really shifts hard, the line pressure I never touched in the tune but i did decrease the shift time to .10 of a second, it really snaps you back and will chirp the tires even if not really getting on it hard
