Wiring.

Boy, I bet that title just gets everybody wound up, huh? Kind of like watching paint dry...lol

But seriously, if you have been around boats or aircraft you know that good wiring is paramount and something that just plain needs to be done to preserve integrity and safety. Well for this type of wiring, Dave at Nelson Supercars is the man. To figure out how to integrate three (actually four) completely stand alone computers into one system is genius. Factory ECM, Electromotive TEC3r ECM, Bowler/Compushift Transmission Controller and Aeromotive Fuel Pump Controller.

Anyway, the wiring job is fantastic. Aircraft Connectors and strain reliefs, Indy car high temp sheathing, Raychem heat shrink over new wiring, individual wiring labels and pin outs all integrated with factory connectors. Seamless. Excellent workmanship.

So here is what it all looks like:
First Pic - Aircraft Connectors that interface to new computers
Second Pic - Aircraft Connectors with Strain reliefs and Indy sheathing
Third Pic - Repin/wire and new sheathing Type 1
Fourth Pic - Repin/wire and new sheathing Type 2
Fifth Pic - One of the harnesses intergrating Factory with aftermarket including keeping the stock firewall grommet.

damnit! i just spent 12 hours working with aircraft connectors and i get on here to distract me and there here too! nooo!!!

in all honesty though - those old style A/C connectors don't hold their connections through vibrations as well as you'd think.

Project is still looking good though!

Ha...you can't get away from your aircraft connectors. They will follow you home.

Anyway, we have used the same ones here that we use on the turbine offshore boats and they have never failed (yet). There may be a newer generation but these are many steps above automotive connectors.

That makes auto weather pak connectors and wiring look downright cheap.

This isn't natural... there has to be some magic being performed in there somewhere... wow.... This is the build of the century; SO glad you chose to do this to a Camaro!! I'll bet the Camaro designers are watching this thread with great interest too.

I have been around the turbine boats too much where wiring and connectors sometimes get melted. It is a gooey mess... Not too funny when something nearby goes to 600 degrees Celsius in about 3 seconds and the wire sheathing didn't meet spec.

most of ours are sadly 40-50 yrs old...so that may be a problem but twist locks in general usually hold a good connection. good luck on the rest!

definitely! but IMO all the best beers seem to be pop-off. Guiness, killians, Sammy?


only problem is since i get off work at 0700 now..i feel like an alcy if i drink
