Engine braking going down long hills

2015 2LT trans down shifts until the engine is @3krpms to hold car back going down long hills. How could I get this crazy insano feature turned off?

You could adjust that with tuning software, such as HPTuners. Why would you want to turn that feature off?

I want it off because we travel over a mt everyday so its revved high for a mile coming down the mt every time. Can't hit the gas its a steep down grade.

Anyone know what to turn off to stop this?

Brakes are cheap, engines and transmissions are not.

I'm pretty sure you've got nothing to worry about. If you're that worried about it, kick it into neutral down the hills.

Or you can contact a tuner and let him know your preferences.

Although the engine is turning at 3,000 rpm, the engine is using little to no fuel since the computer will shut off the fuel supply and let inertia drive the engine. You would actually consume more fuel in neutral.

Put the transmission in S then use the paddle to put the trans in 5th or6th manual mode. At bottom of mt simply shift back into drive.

Its not fuel mileage I'm concerned with, ever see a torque convertor that's been used heavily using engine braking? Among other things like high manifold vacuum sucking oil into the intake.

Brakes are CHEAP, the engine-transmission are NOT.
